About Us
Our Focus
Nebraska D-League's mission is to increase basketball and volleyball skills & fundamentals for the youth of great state of Nebraska! We offer individual and small group skills training, as well as high school clinics.
Our History
Established in 2015, Norfolk Area D-League started with the idea of increasing the skills of local athletes and help build better basketball players and leaders. The goal of keeping costs affordable and not traveling far from home to play tournaments caught on for many. With the philosophy of practices mean more than games - we strive to develop athletes during the summer. Our hope is to make each player better for their high school basketball team!
Our focus of multi-sport athletes, mostly from small towns across Nebraska, helped give opportunities to players who wanted to play summer basketball, but also have lots of commitments for their schools as well! The program expanded in 2018 to the Fremont area, starting Fremont Area D-League.
In 2020, our program took a pivot. Instead of forcing a summer traveling tournament program, we offered a 4-week skills session for grades 5-12, boys and girls. This was a big hit! We had close to 150 young men and women participate. It took us back to our roots - skill development.
We then rebranded all of our teams to a unified program name: Nebraska D-League. Our goal is to make an impact on as many young athletes as we can - all across the state!
In 2021, we broadened our horizons by introducing a Volleyball program and a Girls Basketball program. Both turned out to be massive hits, and we're thrilled to continue nurturing sporting talent among young women in Nebraska.
Fast forward to 2023, and we're on fire! With a total of 62 basketball teams across three locations – Norfolk, Fremont, and Grand Island – plus an additional 22 volleyball teams in Norfolk, we are making waves. Our mission remains clear: growing basketball and volleyball in our state while ensuring that youth from all backgrounds have access to affordable opportunities.
