Coach Tim Buettner is a co-founder of Nebraska D-League and Head of Skill Development. Coach Buettner has been involved in coaching for over 20 years. He found a passion for skill training around 2009. A Certified Skills Trainer with Impact Basketball, Coach Buettner has been conducting individuals, small group workouts, and clinics for the past 8 years. The intensity and high energy that Coach Buettner brings to practices and workouts is unmatched.
Coach Mitchell Schultze is a co-founder of Nebraska D-League and Director of Basketball Operations. Coach Schultze has been in the coaching world since 2013. He played his college basketball for the Morningside Mustangs, where he was a captain of the team for two years. Being an Impact Certified Skills Trainer, Coach Schultze loves to instill leadership qualities into his players. Helping mold players into leaders and respectable young men is something he puts passion in.
Coach Tyler Craven has been on the Fremont Area D-League staff for both seasons of it's existence. Coach Craven was a football & basketball All-Stater at Ashland-Greenwood. He carried on his basketball abilities at Midland University for 4 years, where he was a two-year captain.
"As a former coach's son, I grew up loving and studying the game of basketball. I have an immense passion for X's & O's and creating relationships with these young men that will last a lifetime."
Coach Jordan Wallman has been on the Fremont Area D-League staff for both seasons of it's existence. Coach Wallman is a Beatrice native who was a standout in both football, basketball and baseball. Coach Wallman continued his athletic and academic career as an All-American Tight End at Hastings College.
"I enjoy the process of helping our players develop both as basketball players and young men. Being a part of D-League has been a great experience and a great opportunity to make a positive impact on athletes' lives."
Coach Frank Gade joined the Norfolk Area D-League in 2016. He is currently Assistant Coach at Cedar Catholic. Coach Gade served as the head boy’s coach of the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors from 2010-2018. His 2017 team was the Class C-2 State Runner-Up. He was also selected to coach in the NVC-MNAC and NE Nebraska All-Star games. Coach Gade played college ball at Hastings College.
“As a high school coach the opportunity to work with & have former players work with the Norfolk Area D-League is an overwhelming positive experience. While competing against the best in Northeast NE the kids grow in their game but also in there development as leaders.”
Coach Joe Crilly has been on the Norfolk Area D-League coaching staff since the inception of the program. As a Madison Dragon, Coach Crilly was a football standout and a basketball utility man. He is currently the head Girls Basketball coach at his alma mater as well as the head Football Coach.
"I'm fortunate enough to continually build the Norfolk Area D-League basketball program every summer. It has changed my way of thinking, not only about the game of basketball, but how important we as coaches can impact the players on & off the court."
Coach Todd Schulze has coached for the Norfolk Area D-League for the past 4 seasons. A graduate of High Plains HS, Coach Schulze has carried on his love of basketball as he is the head coach of the Osmond Tigers. Finishing with a school record in wins and a State Runner-Up this year, he is ready to lead them to success again.
"I've been incredibly fortunate to be involved in this program the past 4 summers. Many of the skills and coaching philosophies I've learned as a coach in D-League have translated to our team at Osmond and helped out athletes be successful."
Coach Stefan Medel has coached with the Norfolk Area D-League program for 3 seasons. A 3 year starter in both football & basketball for the Norfolk Panthers, he led them to the state Semi Finals his senior year.
"I'm a firm believer that if you do all of the little things right, you're giving yourself a chance to succeed. The coaching staff for the D-League uses this as a foundation to create elite players along with making sure we coach our players to become even better individuals."
Coach Jake Scheef joined the Fremont Area D-League program in 2019. The Wahoo Warrior continued his athletic and academic career at Nebraska Wesleyen. He helped lead them to a National Championship season his junior year. He is currently an Assistant Coach for both football and basketball at LVSS.
Coach Taylor Reedy joined the Norfolk Area D-League program in 2019. The former Norfolk Panther was a standout in both basketball and football. He went on to play Quarterback for the Wayne State College Wildcats.
"I've played basketball my whole life and have a tremendous amount of appreciation for the sport. I'm thankful for the opportunity to give back and share my love of the game with outstanding players and coaches."
Coach Tyson Belitz has coached for the Norfolk Area D-League program for 2 years. He also competed for the D-League program in 2016. Leading the Neligh-Oakdale Warriors to a State Runner-Up finish, Tyson was also an All-State player.
"Playing for Norfolk Area D-League was a great experience for me that lead to great friends and memories. Not only did it improve my game drastically, but it also helped me grow as a person. That's what makes this program great; the ability to affect player's lives in multiple ways."
Coach Kobe Slaughter joined the Fremont Area D-League coaching staff in 2019. He also competed for the D-League program in 2016. An all state player at GACC, he helped lead his team to a State Runner-Up performance his senior year. Kobe also played college basketball at Briar Cliff University.
"I was fortunate enough to work with the guys of Nebraska D-League throughout my high school career, then play on the team for a summer. Not only did I find lifelong friends, but my game was taken to a totally new level. If you're serious about developing your game with coaches who truly care about you, this program is a great fit."
Coach Logan Nordhues joined the Norfolk Area D-League coaching staff in 2019. He also competed for the D-League program in 2016. As a Randolph Cardinal, Coach Nordhues was a leader in both football and basketball. He was also an All-State player who led his team to both a State Championship and a 3rd Place finish.
"I enjoyed my time playing with the D-League and couldn't pass up the opportunity to coach. I love the game of basketball and thought it would be an enjoyable experience to help develop young players who have the same passion that I did at their age."
